Welcome to the Midsommar Journal!
Welcome to our very first post on the Midsommar Journal! We’re so excited to have a space where we can share the experiences, events, and people that make our Door County summer so special!
This past week, two of our Midsommar Girls had the opportunity to participate in a Makers Market at The Door Stop, and it was such a fun experience.
Abby sold her handmade jewelry and custom banners, while Kate brought her curated collection of vintage clothing. We’ve both spent so much time creating and collecting these pieces, so getting to see people shop them in person made all of the late nights and prep work worth it.
The market was especially exciting because it was Abby’s very first time selling her products in person. While Kate has participated in a few markets before, both of us were looking forward to meeting customers face to face. There’s something so special about seeing someone pick out a piece they genuinely love.
One of our favorite parts of the market was being able to give back to a place that’s become so special to us this summer. We donated 10% of our profits to The Ridges Sanctuary, one of our favorite places to explore in Door County. Whether we’re walking the trails or just taking in the peaceful views, it’s a place we always find ourselves coming back to, so it felt like the perfect organization to support.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shopped with us, or even just came over to say hi. Getting to meet so many amazing people made the day even better, and we’re already looking forward to having another market.
Here’s to the first of many Midsommar Journal posts, we can’t wait to bring you along for the rest of the summer!
