Midsommar Stays: Our First Lodging Partnership
With the increase in our Door County community engagement on Instagram and TikTok, we wanted to uncover a new partnership category that pulls all of our expertise together: Hospitality. As an individual content creator, I have always loved capturing the experience and true feeling of what it’s like to stay somewhere. Authentic content allows potential guests to envision themselves in the space and experience it before they even arrive. I believe that connection is the most powerful tool when it comes to where someone chooses to spend their vacation time.
Therefore, when we saw Goathaus, a mid-century modern A-frame vacation home in Sister Bay, we knew we had to reach out. It was a stunning property with very little organic content. Goathaus is a part of Northern Door Vacations, a rental property company in the northern peninsula. They were nothing but kind and great at guiding and communicating via email to ensure a seamless stay. The owner of Goathaus was especially sweet and open-minded to all of our ideas. Her encouragement and trust in us not only made us feel creatively free but also comfortable in the space, which allowed the content to feel as real and organic as possible.
While we were there, we created three video reels, two in-feed image carousel posts, and countless Instagram stories directing customers straight to the booking link. All posts were cross-posted on Instagram and TikTok, and posted in collaboration with both Goathaus's and Northern Door Vacations' specific accounts. This tactic allows for ultimate audience engagement, blending all of our established online communities together.
This new partnership created incredible traction. We increased Goathaus’ Instagram profile activity by 395.7%, including a 382.9% increase in profile visits and a 500% increase in external link taps to the booking site!
We couldn’t be happier with the results, and with our new connection to a place we love, Sister Bay. While at the Goathaus, we enjoyed relaxing on the hammocks, watching the beautiful sunsets, having nightly fires, hosting all of our friends for a dinner party, having our coffee and doing yoga on the porch each morning, stargazing on the upper balcony, and overall feeling tucked away in our own little oasis, but being only 10 minutes away from downtown Sister Bay. Some other great things to do in the area include a trip to Hidden Acres Farm (5 minutes down the street), Door County Ice Cream Factory, Waterfront restaurant, and Seaquist Orchards for fresh cherries!
